ARTISTIC PROGRAM

The artistic program of the Company Folkloristica HERBESSUS is much varied one, comes represented a show of approximately an hour and thirty minuteren, composed from dances and choreographic songs, that they represent several the moments of the day of the sicialian people. Between the dances, the Group executes:

  • U the Chiovu, most ancient of the tarantelle sicialian that, with the exception of that Neapolitan, is only danced on the tips of the feet. E' one characteristic figure of the isolana popular representation: protagonist, is a singing young person; to court from the girls and friend of all.

  • Several tarantelle traditional sicialian;

  • The dance of the Polka, a dance imported but modified and adapted the spirit of the sicialian;

  • The contraddanza, one typically isolana Mazurka;

  • The dance of carrittiere,

  • Saint Calò dance executed in honor of the protecting saint of the city of the templi, Agrigento;

  • The dance of the piscatori which it recalls the hards work that support the fishermen in sea during the peach of the fish.

    • The songs sicialian that the group executes are famous all over the world which Ciuri ciuri, Vitti na crozza, marranzanu.
    U' Other songs have been, instead, have been to elaborate from the company between which they are listed:
    the Cantu of carritteri, Jetta the rituals, Stidda of amuri, Nicuzza duci, etc..
    Moment for moment, while the young people dance, the daily life in its various aspects and several the moments, the deep sadness and the exuberant joy of the sicialian people is lived again on the stage and in particular that one agrigentino.
    The instruments of the band of the group are those of the sicialian popular tradition between which we cite:
    (Friscaletto, fisarmonica, drum, guitar, bummulo and marranzano).
